Ray Porcellato brings lifelong New Westminster roots, deep civic pride, and hands-on community leadership through his role as president and general manager of the New Westminster Salmonbellies. In that role, he has helped carry forward one of the city’s most iconic sporting traditions while supporting the teamwork, volunteer spirit, and community connection that make local sport such an important part of New Westminster life.
Ray is also an amateur artist, bringing a creative eye and appreciation for culture to his community work. He is running to give back to the community that shaped him and to help protect the qualities that make New Westminster distinct, including its local heritage, families, small businesses, community amenities, and long-term sustainability.
Through his work with the Salmonbellies, Ray has seen how sport, arts and community traditions can bring people together across neighbourhoods, backgrounds and generations. He will bring that same spirit of teamwork, creativity, local pride, and practical community-building to council, with a focus on making city hall work better for residents today and for the next generation.
